Mental Health

February 17, 2010

The facility at Glenside is ideal for mental health patients. Acute patients, in particular, are not in a position to be “integrated with society” and many are in prison when they should be at Glenside. They are not adequately catered for at present.

Although Glenside needs to be  updated, particularly  the derelict non-heritage buildings, the overall ambience of an oasis of natural open space must be retained.

Notes

The imposition of a film studio is totally inappropriate. More beds are needed to accommodate those incorrectly held in prison and Glenside should become a centre of mental health reform.
